Summer visit to Villa Samokov The Photographers Yorkshire, England Review Submitted: June 19, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009 We had a wonderful time here in June, the house was everything we expected and the locals were lovely. Out of the ski season this is not a touristy town but we loved the chance to see a slice of the true Bulgaria, a country of such contrasts. The weather was hot but the mountains still had snow on and the scenery was gorgeous. We recommend a visit to Plovdiv and Blagoevgrad and the walking and nature was superb. Favorite eatery in town was Sonata. One week didn't seem long enough! Thanks Denise for great management and to Leda who was a gem! I'll definitely be recommending this place to friends. Swindon, UK Review Submitted: July 26, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009 Well equipped, conveniently located for restaurants and bars. The house manager was very helpful. Lots of bathrooms - so no queuing. Beds were very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Although we visited in the summer it was good to see a proper "wet" central heating system. It's worth exploring Samokov for other restaurants apart from the Sonata and the Old House - but all do excellent food. However my favourite restaurant is in Mala Churcva a village a few kilometres from Samokov - also The Krusharskata House Hotel in Goverdartsi is very nice.
